PARMOVO is a leading company in the egg products sector where it is present with a wide range of products for use in the food processing industry and also with some types of products intended for mass consumption.

THE 70s SELLING EGGS
The company was founded in 1978 as a general partnership by its owner and director, Mr Luciano Curti. PARMOVO, at the start of its business, sold whole eggs for direct consumption. The eggs were bought from various farms on the basis of the Milan Stock Exchange price list, graded by weight, packed in classic cardboard containers and distributed over the whole of Italy to its various customers. Among these, the main ones were wholesalers operating in the south of Italy who in their turn distributed the product to retailers and to confectionery and ice-cream workshops. The product was delivered mainly using the company’s own vehicles but sometimes by contracting the service to third parties.
The registered office and the factory were situated in Colorno in the province of Parma, where they are still today. In the very early eighties, the market conditions changed for graded and packed eggs. The competition became tough when many of the potential newcomers, hens' eggs producers, decided to market their product directly. The egg business was particularly desirable for poultry farmers, who, by integrating the production cycle with direct marketing of the product, were able to enjoy further advantages deriving from considerable economy of scale and appear on the market with prices that were certainly more competitive than those of the marketing companies.

THE 80s EGG BREAKING
PARMOVO therefore decided to put itself ahead of time and at the end of 1981 laid the foundations of its current production business. Large investments were made to equip the company with new production technology that allowed it to leave the fresh egg market to enter the egg product market, a sector with good prospects for development in which a very small number of companies operated. But it was also a sector in which success was closely linked to the quality standards that the egg product producing companies were able to guarantee to their customers, who were the large Italian food processing groups and the multinational companies operating in Italy. Right from the start, PARMOVO set itself the goal of becoming the leading company in the sector and, for this reason, immediately aimed at quality understood in its widest and most modern meaning.
This was a difficult and demanding choice for the young Parma company that in any case concentrated all its resources, firstly its financial ones, in searching for and setting up a production cycle that guaranteed the highest quality of its egg products. Today, this choice, which we unhesitatingly define as strategic, turned out to be a winner. In fact, PARMOVO takes the lead in the egg product and egg-based food market. But the objective of total quality was not abandoned once the position of market leader was reached. Rather, it is the goal that the company has set itself for the long term, and that as such is not, and never will be, taken for granted or considered reached. The choice of global quality is one of the factors of entrepreneurial excellence that characterize PARMOVO and have allowed it to become the leading company in its sector. On the strategic level, in fact, this choice has allowed, and continues to allow, the Parma company to identify the presence   of a weak link within its system in order to improve it or remove it. In this regard, the process of vertical integration initiated by the company starting in the early nineties was emblematic. PARMOVO, always very alert to developments in the field in which it operates, realized in the nineties that the potential newcomers, once again represented by poultry farmers, were able to obtain egg-shelling technology quite easily and therefore to produce egg products. If this had happened the Parma company would have found itself in a position of competitive inferiority. In fact, hen egg producers who were to decide to enter the egg product market would have benefited from superior quality products in a very short time, in addition to the usual considerable advantages deriving from economies of scale. This is because they would have been able to control the quality of production right from its initial cycle: hens, feedstuffs and eggs.

THE 90s INVESTMENTS IN OWN CHICKEN FARMS
In 1991, the sole director of the company, Mr Luciano Curti, decided to make the investments necessary to create a network of poultry farms that would produce eggs exclusively for PARMOVO and that would allow quality control from the beginning to the end of the production cycle, in addition to a more precise and modern programming of production. In this way, with the specific aim of making the company more competitive, the PARMOVO Agricola division was set up, with its poultry farms scattered over the provinces of Cremona, Mantua, Brescia and Bergamo.
THE DECADE 2000 QUALITY CERTIFICATIONS AND INTERNALIZATION POWDER PRODUCTS ON WORLD MARKETS
At the end of 1999 PARMOVO obtained the ISO 9002 certification. In the following year (2001) ParmOvo, with the intention of exploring other markets, obtained the Kosher certification. 2002. PARMOVO was certified according to the new UNI EN ISO 9001 standard: Ed. 2000. In the same year it obtained a further certification - for the Production of Organic Products - and the renewal of the Kosher certification. Year 2005 marks PARMOVO's entrance in the egg powder market, a market that is as vast as it is difficult and competitive. ParmOvo decided to tackle it by investing in a new factory completely dedicated to this type of production.

2006 PARMOVO constructed a new high technology hen farm, one of the biggest as dimensions in Europe.
2007 PARMOVO obtained the Halal certification for the Islamic foods productions.
THE DECADE 2010 QUALITY CERTIFICATIONS, NEW TECHNOLOGIES PRODUCTION AND NEW INVESTMENTS IN OWN CHICKEN FARMS
2010-2011-2012 PARMOVO has invested in new equipment, technologies and hen farms to constantly improve quality for our customers. 2012 PARMOVO obtained the BRC certification for high safety quality control guarantee.

2013 renewal of certification BRC leads to an immediate rise in quality going from grade B to grade A.
